Hello,

It sounds to me like the shades of a widow on the second floor of the house have been raised so mom can see out. The mother is looking down at whoever is coming home. It sounds like this person coming home is in trouble! To say this differently you could say:

The shades have been raised

Mother is glaring down below

She has no clue where he has been

Hi,

If I wanted to make this more meaningful, I'd add two apostrophes as shown.

The shade's gone up
Mother's staring down
She don't know where he's been
Or how long he's been out

..

The shades gone up - what does it mean? It's like became darker ..or it's about office shades ?

It means that the window blind has been raised.
