The series after #5

Rodi wrote each issue of the title. Small left the series after #5 and was replaced by an assortment of artists including http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanda_Conner (#6,9,13,14), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yanick_Paquette (#7,8,10,11,12), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Jimenez (#12), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Benes (#15-18), http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mark_A._Robinson&action=edit&redlink=1 (#19, 20) and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JohnLucas(comics) (#21-23).http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codename:_Knockout#cite_note-vert-ency-1

I think "small" means the small portion of the title in my example.
So, I'd like to know how the pronoun "small" can be used as the subject of "leave."

'Small' is not a pronoun. It's the name of an artist, as I suggested.

ps. the word 'small' never functions as a pronoun.
