The sentences

Hello,

Could you tell me please if these sentences are correct?

2..“It must have been an incurable disease and the excitement caused by the wedding preparations only accelerated it.”

3."I can't make up my mind what to give her for her wedding."

"Well, why not buy a toy/It would be a nice idea to buy a toy/It won't be a bad idea to buy a toy)."

4.He entered the toyshop. He moved from one place to another until he came up to the doll

department. He was dazzled.

5.By pressing the button on the doll's back she would begin to speak.

6.The doll was with her as usual.

7.She had hardly approached her bed when she heard the sound of footsteps and the door open (Isn't it a mistake to say; 'Hardly had she approached her bed when she heard the sound of footsteps and the door open?' And 'when' shouldn't be omitted here in this sentence, am I right?).

Do those sentences sound natural in English?
