The secretary bird is a bird of prey

The secretary bird is a bird of prey found most in Africa.

Hi,
Does "a bird of prey" amount to "a carnival bird//a carnivore?"
By the way, why is the bird called a secretary? Is it because its appearance?" Thanks.

Top answer

"Bird of prey" means it hunts. "Carnivore" just means meat eater, but it doesn't matter if that meat comes from hunting or scavenging.
