the search / the searching

Hi everyone!
Would you mind helping me out with this?

Imagine I'm writing a letter to a friend who knows I'm looking for a job. Which is correct?

"I have very good news about the searching."

"I have very good news about the search."

Are both possible?

Thanks!

Mara.

Because "job search" is so such a common expression, "search" is a better choice. Granted, you are searching for a job, but you hear more often, "How's the job search going?"
