The Sea

Oh the sea, the sea
The merciless depths,
A cloak of morph,
A willow tree.
The glistering beauty,
Sailor’s omen you bring.

Crash of waves with colour,
Colour with murky depths.
The young and old
The new and worn,
The silent harbinger,
The longing face of Janus.

Do you long for the old times?
When the sands were still rocks?
When the life you harboured,
Were still unstained?
Do you, dear sea, do you?
I do

Sandy banks,
Whispering wind,
Coarse sands, salty taste.
Between my toes and lips.
The haunting songs
Of the children of the Dawn,
Boreas, Eurus, Notus and Zephyros
Nurture my thoughts.

North, east, south and west,
Paths under my feet
Like masterless boats.
Waves rocking them, testing them.
Should I survive the first wave.
What awaits, but more?
Should I sink.
What awaits?
Who will live to tell?

Do you, dear sea, do you?
Remember a time when you too
Were innocent?

I hope I’m not going to regret askin’ this of you darlin’. If the cat Minnaloushe, a symbol of human longing, has a special context in W.B. Yeats poetry, what does Minnaloushe hunt for in the verse you’ve presented here for us to read?
Please don’t misunderstand me, I’m a copywriter and my trade is to understand how words influence people. I’m just not at all sure how I feel having read this

Silly me! I thought that you’d made a collage of famous poems. The Yeats is just your favorite verse that sits at the bottom of every post. Don’t mind me darlin’ it’s already been a long week. Please excuse me for my silly mistake.
Maj, may I ask you a question? Your reply gave me the feelin’ that you recognized an allusion to poetry. Is this correct? Have I missed a reference that I shouldn

An unusual and lovely piece of writing. For me, The Sea presents a Surprising combination of images: the glistering beauty, a cloak of morph, a willow tree. The sea is a person or thing that announces or signals the approach of another, the sea is also Janus (In Roman mythology, appointed to his job as *** of gates and doors because he had two faces, one looking
