The scene from film

could you please help me by correcting or paraphrasing the sentences below for any mistakes?

Mystic River- A film by Clint Eastwood. The scene from film which haunted me most was, Jim and his friends questioning Dave suspecting that he was behind the murder of Jim’s daughter Katie. Jim wanted a killer of Katie. Dave knew how much Jim loved his daughter. Even though Dave was not the killer, he lied to Jim that he did the murder. I was confused, what made him to say the wrong confession? It might be Dave thought that ‘yes’ is the only answer that Jim wanted from him or Dave wanted to end his thirst for enemy’s blood. Dave might thought that if he became the killer of Katie, Jim could live the rest of his life with peace of mind .Jim made an offer that he would allow Dave to survive if he could tell the truth. This ironic statement should hurt Dave. Dave was a real friend to Jim and he showed his depth of affection towards him by just a lie, but Jim misunderstood him and killed the best friend he ever had.
