The same question again becuase I am confused a bit

Is this your coat? or This is your coat? Answer is Yes, it is Tim's . or No it is not my coat. Mine is red.
Both are in the rising tone because Yes and no questions are rising tone.
Except Yes-no questions , They are all falling tone. For example: Where is your coat? How did you tear your coat? When did you buy your coat?
My understand is correc or wrong? please thank you very much.
