The same, it turns out, as the previous two patients.

It has confirmed a third case of Cholera in a man who had eaten seafood on the southern island -- the same, it turns out, as the previous two patients.

Is the sentence natural to use?

'turn out' is followed by that clauses and then I think that the usage of 'it turns out' as an inserted one is wrong, right?

What do you native English speakers think?

Thank you so much as usual in advance.

Hans51 Is the sentence natural to use? It seems OK to me, though my impulse is to edit it. 'It turns out' seems useless.

Thank you so much as usual and I have one more question.

When insertion happen like 'you know', 'it turns out', 'I think', etc, the meaning of them is the same as as it turns out, as I think, as you know or just they have the meaning of that clauses like I think that...you know that...

I feel like as should be added to understand it naturally.

I'm not sure that 'as' can be added in all cases, but anyway, the comment clauses are quite natural without it.
