"the same as X" or "the same as X does"

Hi everyone,

A) Which of the following sentences uses the word "cry" in the same way as paragraph four.

OR

B) Which of the following sentences uses the word "cry" in the same way as paragraph four does.

Is one of these more correct than the other? Is this just the old argument about whether "as"is a conjunction or preposition again?

Which would you guys prefer?

Thanks in advance
