I am working on a document that has a table with two columns to compare two issues.
Some aspects of these two issues are the same. In order to avoid repeating the same text for both issues, I want to write something like "ditto" in one of the colums. However I was told that "ditto" should not be used in formal writing.
Also, I think "ditto" means "the same as above". I need something to say 'the same as on the left' or 'the same as on the right". What should I use?
Thanks.
