The same as a pronoun

"Something is the same or different." I have learned that the speech part of "the same" is "pronoun". Then, should "different" be "the different" to make speech parts consistent? Or can we consider "the same" as an adjective or what? Thank you for helping me and taking your time as usual.

Thank you!! And don't native English speakers say "Something is same" without "the" and use just "same" as an adjective like "A is happy"?

No, 'Same' is always preceded by 'the' there. It is unique in that respect.
