"the rise of inflation" or "the rise in inflation"?

Dear teachers,

I read a cnn new script as follows:

"One way the Fed can try to slow down the rise of inflation is by increasing its key interest rate, which it just did. But that affects consumers because it makes it more expensive for them to borrow money."

Shouldn't we say "One way the Fed can try to slow down the rise of inflation" instead of "One way the Fed can try to slow down the rise of inflation"?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks and best regards,

Shouldn't we say "One way the Fed can try to slow down the rise of inflation" instead of "One way the Fed can try to slow down the rise of inflation"? I think you mistyped something. Those two phrases are identical.

My apology:

"One way the Fed can try to slow down the rise of inflation" instead of "One way the Fed can try to slow down the rise in inflation"?

To the extent that there is a difference, "rise in inflation" tends to suggest one rise (e.g. from 1% to 1.5%, or whatever), whereas "rise of inflation" tends to suggest a continuing upward movement over time. So, in your original sentence, while "in" is not glaringly wrong, "of" seems a better fit.

Thank you for your kind explanation.
There is a very subtle nuance, so it is very hard to catch the meaning.
Once again thank you for your time.
