The right way of using "while" thx soooo much! =)

Dear everyone,

May I know if it's correct to write...

A few days ago, whilst Karen walked out of the library, she was hit by an out of control motorcyclist.

Many thanks!

Would you please tell me if it's correct to write? A few days ago, when Karen walked out of the library, she was hit by an out-of-control motorcyclist. 'While' marks an enduring action during which another action occurs ; here, Karen was no longer walking after the bike hit her.
