The restrictive / non-restrictive use of a relative pronoun

Hello everyone. I have a question.

Regarding the following two sentences:

(A) A girl, who used to prefer reading books all by herself to playing with other kids, is now playing an active role on Canada's national football team.

(B) A girl who used to prefer reading books all by herself to playing with other kids is now playing an active role on Canada's national football team.

I'm wondering whether we should use the restrictive or non-restrictive use of a relative pronoun in a case like this. Which is better? I'd also like to know if the other one is totally wrong.

I prefer (B) but I don't consider (A) wrong.
