Hi,In {By the end of the war he felt used up and sick of life.}, the verb of "felt" shows that 'he' existed in a mind or body condition that has a controlling effect on him.So, the subject "he" is a sufferer of the stated state and the verb "felt" used to show "he" is covered with that condition.Whether only in this way can we come into the core of the realationship between "he" and "felt" ?Thank you for your assistance.
