Vocabulary

the Pures

Hello!

I have several questions regarding this sentence. Please, help me if you can.

1. Can I use the Pures meaning the pure type of guys in plural? It's a metaphoric name for a conservative man.

2.Can you help me find the expression meaning 'later and later'' which would function well in this sentence.

3. Is it OK to say be bogged down or sink in the mud of a more serious love affair?

4. What about more serious love affair? serious is here opposite to short-lasting and unimportant.

When they go astray, the Pures/the Pure types can return from the pub later and later or be bogged down/sink in the mud of a more serious love affair

Thank you very much. I'm looking forward to your postsEmotion: smile

p.s. It's Antonia, I can't log in from my computer. Sorry!

Antonia, it's kind of difficult to answer your question because I don't know the full context of your essay. If I assume that you are describing how a "pure person" becomes corrupted: 1. You can use the term 'Pures' once you define what it is in your paper first.

Hi Antonia,

I see your log-in problem is not solved yet! I usually do not dare to answer your questions, since your English is better than me and you've already considered or ignored my suggestions! Anyway, if your name was there as the poster, I wouldn't be hear making fun of myself trying to make some stupid suggestions!

Hi everybody!!

I'm looking forward to your posts. Thank you for writing.

The Pures is an ironic expression for the type of conservative men who are actually hypocrites because although they pretend to have some traditional values, they still cheat on their wives. They usually don't have committed affairs because they believe in marriage, and their wives are with them be
