I see Japanese Light Novels used --- punctuation to transition into a new scene without actually breaking into a new chapter.
Is this kind of punctuation acceptable to use in English novel writing? I wanted to transition a scene in my novel, using only punctuations if possible.

Please give a specific layout example of how you intend to use this punctuation. Sometimes asterisks are used between scenes, like this: * * *

This is a short extract of my work where I used the --- to transition to another scene. “Ok, I understand. Look, I am sorry for bringing you here. Since there is no turning back now, let's work together to defeat the Evil Magi King.”
“Huuh… From what I know, you’re just an anti social NEET, so why do you look so gallant now..”
OK, in that case I would use three asterisks. I cannot exactly replicate it in this editor, but the asterisks should be centred on the page (not left-aligned) and should have a bit of space between them.
