The pronunciation of words like 'foreign' and 'recognise'

00I'm having trouble pronouncing words like 'foreigner' and 'recognise', because everyone seems to pronounce them differently. Do you need to pronounce the 'g', or can it just be ignored (and how do you pronounce that word...)?02br

0 Mostly only foreigners pronounce the "g" in "foreigner", because adding the "g" was simply a spelling change: in Middle English it was spelled "foreiner", so I don't know of any Modern English dialects that actually add the "g". 0-
