The proceeds/incomes/earnings are given to charities

It's not just about art, though. After each festival, the cows are auctioned off and the proceeds are given to charities to help those in need.

Hi,
Does "proceeds" in the above amount to "incomes" and "earnings?" Thanks.

In the context, I would understand the word "proceeds" to mean specifically "the money received/earned from auctioning off the cows".
