I was pretty sure that I know quite many rules for the articles (all basic ones at least), but, again, they took me by surprise. I saw the following sentence:
The price includes accessories such as the CD player.
1) Is it correct (as first mention, of course)? If yes, can we explain the definite article here as meaning the class?
2) Would it be more natural to say 'a CD player'?
