The title of the Article is

Why is the preposition "in" used?
Should it not be "after" or "upon"?
What does the "in" mean?

I don't think this is the intended meaning at all. In fact, Stotts is a person. Stotts is credited with helping Lillard to match the achievements of Robertson and James. Or something like that.
