The position of 'please'

Does the position of 'please' at the beginning or at the end of a sentence change its meaning?
Eg.,
Please close the window.
Close the window, please.

No, it doesn't. Your examples are correct.
It only sounds more polite when 'please' is positioned at the beginning of a request.

However, this is not the general rule for using 'please'.

However, if the word please in the first sentence were followed by a comma, I would say the speaker
would want to add force to his / her request, as the comma might emphasize a note of urgency in his / her voice.

From experience, I believe the first sntence implies a simple request, possibly from a friend. The second is more of a direction, a soft order, likely to come from someone in a position of authority.
