Hi

Is this sentence natural? Any suggestions are welcome.

The police were severely condemned for profaning the mosque by walking in with their shoes on.

Thanks,

I think that "condemned" is not the word you want: "punished / censored / reprimanded" would be much better. "Profane" can be used as a transitive verb.

Hi, Philip.
I'm wondering if "censored" is a typo here.

Best wishes, - A.
