The place that / which / where

This may be a frequently asked question, but could you answer me?

About the four sentences below, which is the best and which is incorrect?

I think (a) is the most natural, (b) and (c) are grammatical, and (d) is ungrammatical but in reality often used. Am I right?

(a) This is the place I wanted to visit for a long time.

(b) This is the place that I wanted to visit for a long time.

(c) This is the place which I wanted to visit for a long time.

(d) This is the place where I wanted to visit for a long time.
