The pivot table vs. pivot table

A. I use the pivot table in Excel.
B. I use pivot table in Excel

C. I use the VLOOKUP in Excel.
D. I use VLOOKUP in Excel.

1. Should I use "the" or not in each pair above?
2. If I added "tool" after "VLOOKUP" in C and D, would "the" be necessary? Or is it OK without?

1-- Either seems reasonable. 2-- With 'tool', the article becomes important, but would still be omitted in most instructions.
