The people I knew from work

The people I knew from work, or my co-workers to be more precise, were not the most sympathetic people I've met.

Is it from work? Is there a better way to say it?

Is all right. "at the office" or "from the office" could do also.

I expected it to end thus: not the most sympathetic people I've ever met.
