The past tense verb in a conditional 2

Hi.

If we make a conditional 2 sentence, we use a verb in past tense.

If you said that to him, he'll get furious.

What is this act, backshifting a verb, grammatically called?

Thank you very much Mr.M. I found that some call it a hypothetical backshift , it may not be common though.
