And what if I didn`t show my room to this person and just start a conversation with them?

Let`s say;

-Hi, James.
-Hi, Lucy.
-You know what? I`m very glad today because my friend has painted my room./my friend painted my room. (let`s say this friend did it yesterday).

Voytaszekbecause my friend has painted my room.
The tense is good, but it's more idiomatic thus:

because a friend of mine has painted my room

By the way, you may be interested to note that if someone says Your room looks amazing, the topic of discussion is the room, so you can say Yeah, it's just been painted by a friend of mine.
