Dear teachers!
There is a thing which is not quite clear to me. When we are talking about some period of time in the past, is it possible to use the Past Continuous? For instance:
1) - Yesterday we argued for the whole evening, where to go in the summer. Or
- Yesterday we were arguing for the whole evening, where to go in the summer.
2) - I played football from 3 to 4 o'clock yesterday. Or
- I was playing football from 3 to 4 o'clock yesterday.
I have read through a lot of grammar books recently, but failed to find a univocal answer.
Please, help me with understanding of the subject.
