The past participle ??

I've just watched an video on YouTube and would like to add a comment .This video gave me a fresh look at Turkish people.
Is it correct if I say...

" I hadn't realized how crazy ( in a positive way) Turkish people are " ?

Is it OK to use the The past participle in this sentence ?

  • The use of past participle is all right here, but to me know can be a beter choice here.
  • And the sentence sounds better if it is rephrased, as I hadn't known that the Turkish people are so crazy !
