The passport application report

Hi,

Is this okay with the definite article:

On our website you will also find the passport application report.

No report has been mentioned before this sentence. I know that "a" might easily work, but it's not a report as in one of the many such reports, but there is only one: if our users want to run this report, they will have to do it through this one report on our website. So there is only one. Is 'the' ok?

Thank you.

"passport application report" seems to refer to the findings of an investigation into someone's passport application. It does not obviously sound like something a user would "run" through a website. Are you sure "passport application report" is really what you mean?

PS Another suggestion: "the credit history report". OK?

That might not make any difference. Maybe it's clear that the report they want to find is the report that you offer on your website.

It's the situation in which they are looking for that report that serves the same function that "previous mention" might have done.

GodivaWell, the template and everything is the same.
I am assuming that there is a standard report template, or report format, that is common to everyone. When a user runs a report, they get a report in the standard format but containing data pertaining to them individually.

If these reports are really unique, I'd consider capitalizing their names.
eg the Connection Speed Report
eg the Credit History Report
