the or no the?

Hi,

"The aim of this study was to assess the effect of the two nap types during the night shift on psychomotor driving skills among night shift nurses."
This comes under the introduction section of a paper. We have not yet specify the two nap types of which we are going to assess the effects. I wonder if the is required before "two nap types".

Thanks!

No, if you have not named the two nap types yet, there is nothing specific to refer to. This is the difference between: Two dogs ran across the road. (We don't know anything about the dogs yet).
