The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

In what sense "for" is used i the above sentence? It would have been okay if it were something like 'The only reason evil triumph is for good men do nothing' - "for" being used in sense of 'because'. Please guide me.

Thanks, Mr Micawber.

'I' and 'we' are personal pronouns used as subjects and 'me' and 'us' are personal pronouns used as objects. I suppose I have it right.

"me" isn't a subject, then what other subject is introduced by "for"?

"me" isn't a subject, then what other subject is introduced by "for"?-- 'Me' is the object of the preposition 'for' and the subject of the infinitive 'to go'.

Do the two mean the same? --Yes

1: It's time for me to go.
2: It's time that I go.
