The one of a goddess?

Hi, everyone.

The following sentence is written in my book. Could you tell me whether it's correct?

".........;in Homer's llliad the hero is the one of a goddess(singular);........"

Should not it have been "the hero is one of the goddesses (plural)."

Thanks!

The hero's mother is one of the minor goddesses. Achilles is the hero. Achilles' mother is Thetis, a sea nymph, daughter of Nereus (a sea *** like Poseidon). Achilles' father was a minor king, a mortal man, Peleus.
