The omitted phrase

"Though long outdated, I grew fascinated with this particular game" I suspected that the omitted phrase between though and long is "Civ 2 became" and is my guess correct? Thanks in advance!

I think the intent is Civ 2 was . Without those words, however, the clause ( though long outdated ) is dangling, resulting in the meaning that the gamer was outdated rather than the game.
