The older generations tend to have very traditional ideas about how people should live, think, behave. However, some people beleive that these ideas are not helpful in preparing younger generations for modern life. To what extent do you agree or...

The Generation gap leads to the disparity in viewpoints between old and young people. In my opinion, while I assume that some traditional ideas are outdated in modern life, I believe that several ideas also are intact value and worthy to learn.
On the one hand, the elderly's thoughts seem obsolete. Firstly, the traditional idea that people need to find out a secure job and dedicate their whole life to one job. It is incompatible with the dramatic change in the technology era. The young tend to seek out more jobs to diversify their incomes. Secondly, in the past, especially in Asia countries, social prejudices were the barriers limited woman's learning and development, but today the society is more acceptable the role of them and also creating conditions to realize their full potential. Finally, back in the time, in order to avoid war, some countries prohibited foreign trade but now the more goods are exchanged, the more friendship between two countries are.
On the other hand, some of these ex-viewpoints are also values and useful in the modern lifestyle. For example, "practice makes perfect" is always true in every instance. Whether present or past, hard work and perseverance are major factors to be prowess. It is still right that people should behave politely with their parents and elders. The old are people who lived in a harsh time and witnessed the change throughout their experiences so that their opinions about life are immensely precious. In order to deal with the privation, the previous generation had to be thrifty. Today, although more people's lives are enhanced, they also need to reserve because nothing is standstill.
In conclusion, despite the antiquated ideas, some of the old viewpoints should be respected and perceive.
