Can I say,

The old man and woman / The old man and the old woman lived in a village.

When you say: the old man and woman, I assume tbat the adjectives "the old" modify the phrase man and woman. You need not repeat them for each noun. Sometimes adjectives are repeated, though if the items are not closely connected. The old man and the old horse were in the barn.

Repeating "the fresh" for each noun here would be totally tedious:
