why do we use for "station, post office, bank, cinema..." of "the" but not for " school, home, hospital, bed, church...".
I'm going to bed.(not to the bed)
I go to the cinema a lot.(not to cinema)
The expressions "to school", "to bed", "to hospital", "to church" and so on are not grammatically predictable. You have to learn them as idiomatic exceptions to the normal rules about articles. While the combination of words "to home" can sometimes occur, it is not an expression in the same category as "to school" etc.
