The nature of "it"

https://youtu.be/K2p6tSnjxUA?t=1m41s

At 1:41, "Killmonger" says this in front of Black Panther:

Y'all sittin' up here comfortable. Must feel good. It's about two billion people all over the world that looks like us. But their lives are a lot harder. Wakanda has the tools to liberate 'em all.

In the third sentence, what's the nature of "it"?

Is the sentence an "it-cleft" where "about" means "approximately"?

Or does "about" here mean "the most important or basic part or purpose of"?
