The most noteworthy vs most noteworthy

Hi.

My university professor gave several actionable pieces of advice. But most/ the most noteworthy was his suggestion that I focus my studies on North African history, as I was both interested in it and am of Tunisian ancestry.

Yes. You could have "But noteworthy was ...". Many suggestions may have been noteworthy, though, so the meaning is different. Leaving out "most" or "the most" leaves out the idea that the suggestion mentioned was more noteworthy than any of the other noteworthy suggestions.
