the most important lessons

Hi,

When you have phrases like "the most important lessons" (anyway, is that a phrase?), should it have "lessons", in plural, or "lesson" in singular?

1) the most important lessons

2) the important lesson

What are the differences semantically?

Top answer

Lessons is plural and lesson is single. The most important lessons at this school are maths, English and music. The most important lesson I have learned in life is to forgive.
