The most eloquent I have heard him

Are these sentences correct:

1-The most eloquent I have heard him was when he was talking about his family life.

2-The best I have seen him was when he played against the ABC team.

I think '2' could have two meanings:
The best I have seen him play (or 'be') was when he played against the ABC team.
I saw him best when he played against the ABC team. (Maybe I had a very good seat.)

Gratefully,
Navi.

1-The most eloquent ly I have heard him speak was when he was talking about his family life. You need an adverb here, and a verb that the adverb can modify. The use of the adjective is not strictly incorrect, but it sounds very clumsy.
