Grammar

the more specific your demands?

I am a South Korean Student who was just looking up my English reading comprehension book. I found this sentence "Things get fuzzier the more specific your demands." which I found odd.
I can completely understand what this sentence is trying to tell us, but can anyone tell me if this is grammatically correct?? If it is correct, why?

Top answer

The sentence is correct grammatically, but the logic seems off. Things should usually get clearer as the demands get more specific.

Two rephrasings that are better grammatically, in my opinion, are:

Things get fuzzier as your demands get more specific.
The more specific your demands, the fuzzier things get.

I read and agree to your replies! But this phrase is from the official studying book of the Korean version of SAT. FIY, this book never makes any mistakes. So, as a student from a non-English speaking country, what I really want to ask is if people from English-speaking countries actullay use this phrase. (or at least in formal report papers)

Hmmmm. I think that's a rather optimistic assumption.
