The money in the drawer

1) I took the money in the drawer.

Doesn't that mean I took all of it?

2) They ate the fruit on the trees.

Does that men they ate all of it?

It seems to me that if it was a habitual action, then it wasn't all of it, but if we are talking about one occasion, it was. But in '1' it seems that I took all of it regardless of whether it was a one-time thing or something habitual.

Gratefully,
