The mindset or mindset

It would be hard to change the mindset of Hamas who won the recent elections for Palestinian Legislative Council.


Is the above sentence fine?
I mean to write 'the mindset' would be questionable; because the word mindset is uncountable in my dictionary,

I think "the mindset" is true. Yes "mindset" is uncountable, but we can use "the" with uncountable nouns if it is obvious what we are talking about.

In addition, in my Cambridge Advanced Dictionary it says "......the mindset of the public...."

I agree with Yahyacan. THE is required because "mindest" is specified by "of Hamas".
