The millionth word countdown

Dear language buffs:

I heard a short clip on the radio just a few minues ago about an organization in my home state (Texas) that monitors new words in the English language and tallies the English lexicon. Obviously, this topic is not without controversy, but here is the The Global Language Monitor's web site where you can watch the countdown to one million words.

Comments are welcome.

Hi, Seems a bit nutty to me. Now, if they could write a sentence using them all, that would be more sensible. I glanced, but didn't see anything about subtracting words that fall out of use.

Hi,

Seems a bit nutty to me. Now, if they could write a sentence using them all, that would be more sensible.

I glanced, but didn't see anything about subtracting words that fall out of use. Do they do that?
