The milk has turned

Hi

We use both phrases (given below) in our part of the world. Could you please give your take?

  1. Oh, the milk has turned. I can't make coffee.
  2. Oh, the milk has turned sour. I can't make coffee.

Thanks,

Tom

Middle Atlantic, US. Both are possible, but we favor saying "sour". In fact, I would expect "The milk's sour." There is also "The milk's gone sour."
