The Michael Jackson trial reconstructions

I presume these have been showing in the US as well as the UK? A daily twenty-five minute "yesterday's highlights" show, using actors and a script culled from the court transcripts, linked by a presenter. What do people think? Given the speed of production, I've found them rather impressive: certainly the performances have been good, with rarely a hint that the cast must be reading from autocues or idiot boards.
Some of the court procedures have seemed rather strange to someone used to the British system (and I wish the broadcasting company over here had put together a programme explaining those differences) but as a slice of daily low-budget drama, I at least have been hooked...

Agreed; these are cool. And Jimmy Kimmel did a good job impersonating Jay Leno. I guy impersonating Chris Tucker didn't look like him but had his voice down cold.

Are you able to pinpoint exactly why you felt that way? Were you disturbed by the whole concept of impersonating real people? Personally, I just admired the craft: how quickly the scripts must have been put together, how neatly the shows were directed, and - especially - how well they were performed.

Yes. My impression of Kimmel's talent went up a lot. They are pretty amazing to be as good as they are on such short timing I agree. I think it is no more offensive than any of the reality shows. Better than the one w
