the message didn't send or isn't sent?

I saw it on Facebook messenger bar.
It says: the message didn't send.
but why not "the message isn't sent"?

The message wasnt sent / The message hasn't been sent would be OK in this context; isn't sent is not. This intransitive use of 'send' is very recent. It has become acceptable, in my opinion.
